Brief History

GKU School of Law, Talwandi Sabo was established by GKU Act.2011 (Punjab Act No. 37 of 2011) and approved by UGC and started imparting education in law in the Academic year 2016-17.

The primary objective of GKUSL is to evolve and impart comprehensive and inter disciplinary legal education that is socially relevant. Through this education, we aim to promote legal and ethical values and faster the rule of law and the objective enshrined in the constitution of India. Furthermore, GKUSL commences with the vision of imparting "The rich heritage of legal thought and tradition, simultaneously providing a breath and depth of instructions". These processes strive to promote legal awareness in the community and to achieve political, social and economic justice i.e. advancement of learning and teaching, research, diffusion of knowledge in the field of law.

Taking inspiration from this, GKUSL identifies and pledges adherence to the following objectives.

To design and conduct regular courses of learning for dissemination of knowledge, advanced learning in legal subjects and other related disciplines with a view to meaningfully integrate, support and enhance professional knowledge of law and also to appreciate the rule of law in national growth and development. Our strength will not only be shaped as agents of change but will also be equipped to address the imperatives of the new millennium and uphold the constitution of India.

    Computer & Internet Lab

    USL has spacious and well furnished class room with necessary instructional aids such an over head projector, white Board and LCD projector for effective communication and interaction with the students, to facilitate class room discussion and project presentations. The library is equipped with adequate staff to give guidance and assistance to the students.

  • Moot Court Hall

    Moot Court Hall

    We have moot court Hall designed like a courtroom for the purpose of conducting Moot Court Competitions and thereafter for the internal selection for participating in Competitions organized by other institution and universities. It helps the law students in perfecting their legal analytical, research and writing skills that plasticizing attorneys must have. By participating in the process, they become more comfortable arguing in front of judges and a more confident public speaker.

    Library Learning Resource Centre

    Library is the soul of any educational institute and plays a significant role in the all learning activities, more so in the learning of law. Our collections and library development policy is not constrained by any impediment. Our study resource included choicest publications of reference books, law reports, digest, encyclopedias, manuals, journals and the like.USL library maintains records of number of books issued per day to students/ faculty. Books/journals sent for Xerox per day. All the magazine, journals and reports are kept in the front side of the library for the use of faculty and students. E- library facilities also available for students to providing online journals and latest judgment of Supreme Court and High Courts.

    The school has a computer lab which is air conditioned and fully equipped with adequate number of terminal with latest configuration and more than 20 computers with internet connectivity for the use of the students, teachers and staff working.
